I am very excited to share that NEEZO Studios’ 3D animations are featured on Netflix’s newest original series, Motel Makeover
 
Motel Makeover is a 6 episode series that “centers on friends and business partners April Brown and Sarah Sklash as they reinvigorate a dated property in Sauble Beach, Ontario. It’s a second location for their brand of June Motels, which offer guests Instagram-worthy backdrops, rosé and plenty of millennial pink.” (Credit: USA Today, Mere home renovations aren’t enough: Motel makeovers are the latest in the supersized TV boom). Motel Makeover began streaming on Netflix on August 25, 2021 and can be watched in 190 countries.

Our animations on Motel Makeover are used to show viewers the before and after of the spaces. While Sarah and April discuss their plans and how they would like to renovate the Motel, our animations fly onto the screen and build up everything that the girls are saying word for word. This style of animation that we create for these TV shows is a process that takes a lot of in-studio designing and specific NEEZO techniques in order to reach that signature NEEZO look that everyone knows.
 
Although our work has been and continues to be featured on TV shows, it was a pretty cool feeling to see our work and our name in the credits on Netflix.
 
As some of you may know, NEEZO has been the home of the 3D animations on HGTV’s Property Brothers since its inception in 2011, but our history with creating animations for TV doesn’t just stop there. We’ve also created the animations on other shows that feature Drew and Jonathan Scott (a.k.a. The Property Brothers) such as: Brother Vs. Brother, Forever Home, Celebrity IOU, Property Brothers at Home, and more. You might’ve also noticed our animations on CTV’s Holmes Family Effect, on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Income Property, and on channels such as ABC, CBC, W Network, and The Food Network.

I am so proud to be part of a company that is at the forefront of technology and the architectural visualization industry, but above all, a company that cares so much about its clients and how our work and expertise can positively benefit the real estate industry. As a result, NEEZO Studios contracted Leger Research (the largest Canadian-owned market research and analytics company in Canada) to conduct a never done before in-depth 10 minute survey aimed at providing up-to-date research on homebuyer sentiment related to buying a pre-construction home. This survey gave homebuyers the opportunity to give their honest feedback regarding the digital tools available to them when it comes to envisioning and understanding how their new home will look before it is built.
 
As a leading architectural visualization studio that is always ahead of the game, NEEZO Studios understands how valuable digital marketing tools can be for home buyers, especially now that the Covid-19 pandemic has dramatically shifted the paradigm of the homebuying process.
 
When speaking to prospective new clients, Marvin Maalouf, founder of NEEZO Studios, sometimes encounters those who say: “That’s a cool piece of technology, but…” or “Neat sales software, but…” or “You produce extremely photorealistic 3D renderings and animations, but…my homebuyers don’t care about all this digital/virtual stuff.”
 
Regarding the results of this survey, Marvin stated, “Turns out home buyers do care. Homebuyers today are time-starved, very tech-savvy, and before they even visit a pre-construction sales center, they’ve already done their homework – digitally and virtually.
NEEZO Studios decided to be the very first in the architectural visualization industry to initiate a survey to dispel myths that homebuyers don’t care about digital and virtual selling tools. This survey will be of value to demonstrate to builders and developers what their buyers want and need in today’s pandemic times, and I strongly believe these sentiments will continue, even post-pandemic.”

A majority say they would appreciate the option to visit new home and condo sales centers virtually (74%)
The most important digital elements when visiting a sales centre are: floor plans in 2D (85%), being able to digitally view home on lot (78%), and seeing the distance to amenities (75%)
The most important features that homebuyers care about are: Viewing floor plans in 2D (85%), Being able to digitally view the home on the lot (78%), Being able to see how many minutes away amenities are (75%), Photo galleries (73%), 3D renderings of the home or condo (73%), Floor Plans in 3D (72%).

The online survey was executed by Leger and conducted among a database of magazine subscribers whose readers are homeowners and homebuyers in Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area. It was carried out and the data was collected between Nov. 12 and 23, 2020. The analysis of the survey was independently provided by Leger.

I am very proud and happy to announce that NEEZO Studios won 1 Gold and 2 Silver awards at this year’s The Nationals, The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) annual awards ceremony…a.k.a. The Oscars of the real estate industry. Winning an award, nevermind 3, especially knowing that 12% of the entries were chosen as Silver Honorees and only 4% earned the gold, is an honor and we are all proud that our innovative work continues to make such a positive impact on the proptech industry.
Red Carpet VIP-VR – Gold Award Winner
NEEZO’s latest 3D breakthrough product, Red Carpet VIP-VR, won the Gold Award for Best Virtual Sales Process/Experience. Red Carpet VIP-VR was invented out of necessity during the COVID-19 pandemic. After noticing that many of our builder clients were not able to continue with their launches due to the pandemic, NEEZO Studios’ founder, Marvin Maalouf, came up with this innovative virtual reality sales center as a safe and effective alternative that allows builders to invite their homebuyers to the front of the line, wherever they are!
Essentially, Red Carpet VIP-VR serves as a prelude to NEEZO’s real time real estate sales software, LiveSite™.  For those unable to visit the sales centre in person, we made sure to implement a series of interactive touchpoints that enabled users to download, listen to or view 3D elements of the entire sales centre (custom-rendered in photorealistic 3D, based on the builder’s actual sales centre). Beyond a mere 3D tour, NEEZO enhanced conventional (walk through) VR with a myriad of interactive components:
  • A video-hostess who points out what you can see/do at every interactive touchpoint of the sales centre
  • Virtual guests can peruse the standard and upgrade packages

HGTV’s Brother Vs. Brother – Silver Award Winner
NEEZO Studios won a Silver Award for Best Video – Long Format – Over 1 Minute for our 3D animations and renderings on HGTV’s Brother Vs. Brother! NEEZO Studios has had the honor and privilege to create all of the 3D flythrough animated scenes featured in Property Brothers, Brother Vs. Brother, Forever Home, and a few more Property Brothers shows. The interior and exterior flythrough scenes that NEEZO creates for every Property Brothers show is a really cool process that takes a lot of in-studio designing and special NEEZO Studios techniques in order to be able to complete that signature NEEZO look.

On behalf of NEEZO Studios, I am very pleased to announce that we had the amazing opportunity to create the 3D renderings and animations for CTV’s new show, Holmes Family Effect
Each episode follows the Holmes family (Mike Holmes, Sherry Holmes, and Michael Holmes) as they surprise deserving people who make differences in their communities with amazing renovations.

How Our Animations Are Used Throughout The Show
This show has a unique approach. When the Holmes family regroups at the beginning of the episode to discuss the changes that they would like to make to each of the spaces, Mike Holmes opens up a floorplan on the table and voila…our animation appears as a 3D levitating version of the 2D floor plan that they were looking at.  The camera then zooms in to showcase the transformation of each space.  So instead of starting the animation showing the distressed state of a space to what it can potentially transform to, we created the entire area that needed to be renovated as a floating object.
Adding these 3D animated elements to every show we work on, including Holmes Family Effect, allows the audience to engage and understand the renovations that are to be made as well as the potential of what the space could be transformed to.

A Year In Review: 2020

Happy New Year!! What a year 2020 has been for all of us. Of course a lot of events occurred last year, but as we all know, the biggest situation that was presented to us and that we are still facing is the global pandemic, Covid-19. Before we dive into this blog and speak about some memorable moments that NEEZO experienced in 2020, I want to take the time to say that I hope you had a great holiday break and are doing well considering these challenging times. Covid-19 was definitely a big shock to us all, but we’ve been getting through it and will get to a point where things can slowly start going back to normal.
RELEASING RED-CARPET VIP-VR™
Now that the way we live our lives has changed because of Covid-19 and forced us to try our best to stay home and not go out unless necessary, it undoubtedly changed the way real estate developers are able to sell their upcoming developments in the sales center, since not many people are able to be in there all at once or feel comfortable doing so due to social distancing rules.
So naturally, NEEZO saw this as an opportunity to push the limits in our creative architectural visualization abilities. As a result of this unanticipated new way to live, NEEZO Studios created RED-CARPET VIP-VR™, a Virtual Reality walkthrough unlike any other. Celebrity IOU Season 1 & 2

 

NEEZO Studios had the great opportunity to create the 3D animations and renderings on both seasons of HGTV’s Celebrity IOU. What makes Celebrity IOU so different from the other Property Brothers shows is that it gives celebrities the opportunity to express their gratitude towards someone who has had a significant impact on their lives.
The celebrities in season 1 were: Brad Pitt, Rebel Wilson, Viola Davis, Jeremy Renner, Michael Bublé, and Melissa McCarthy. The celebrities in season 2 were: Zooey Deschanel, Allison Janney, Rainn Wilson, and Justin Hartley. 

 

Brother Vs. Brother Season 7
In 2020, NEEZO Studios also had the pleasure of creating the 3D animations and renderings for season 7 of HGTV’s Brother Vs. Brother. Following Drew and Jonathan Scott, a.k.a. The Property Brothers, Brother Vs. Brother makes the brothers go head to head to revamp the properties they choose and see who can make the most profit from each sale.

May 2020 marked one year of Property Brothers Forever Home which means that NEEZO also celebrated creating the 3D animations and renderings for the show and by December 2020, HGTV had begun airing season 4 of Forever Home!

FEATURED IN ARCHITECTURAL DIGEST
Back in February 2020, NEEZO Studios’ stunning birds eye view rendering of Mizrahi Developments’ The One was featured in a special edition of AD magazine, the 100th Anniversary of AD–a Collector’s Issue.
Every year, Architectural Digest reveals the highly anticipated “AD100 list”– an annual survey of the top names in interior design/decor/architecture.
This particular “AD100” issue earns extra special “collector’s edition status” since 2020 marks AD’s 100th anniversary (in addition to the issue showcasing their top 100 interior designers list)!
No matter how strange life might’ve been for the majority of 2020, it’s definitely a blessing to still be here, healthy and safe. NEEZO Studios’ Animations Featured on Another Season of HGTV’s Brother Vs. Brother

With its seventh season now concluded, NEEZO Studios is very honored to have created the renderings and animations for another exciting season of Brother VS. Brother!
 
Brother VS. Brother dropped its first season back in July 2013 and has been going strong as the seasons go by. What made the latest season’s Los Angeles location much more special is the fact that Drew’s honeymoon house is located in that specific location so some could say that Drew already had a slight advantage over Jonathan 🙂
 
What makes Brother VS. Brother so different from their other shows, such as Property Brothers: Forever Home, and their original series that started it all, Property Brothers, is the idea in which instead of working together to help bring everyone’s dream home to life, they are going head to head and competing against each other. 
With their individual crews of contractors, designers, and realtors, each brother purchases, revamps and then sells the properties that they worked during the season. In order to claim the ‘Winner’ title, the goal is to see who makes the most profit from each sale. 
After the brothers and their respective teams finished fixing up their properties, the winner for season seven ended up being Drew Scott. This victory has now put Drew in the lead for the most Brother VS. Brother wins – four out of the seven seasons to be exact. 

BROTHER VS. BROTHER SEASON 7 TAKES ON DISNEYLAND

With many fun and thrilling challenges throughout this season, one of the neat things that happened was when the brothers visited Disneyland and had a challenge where the winner would stay one night at a special Disneyland resort. Feel free to check out this fun video from that episode:

In Spring 2018, NEEZO Studios was asked to be part of GUSTO TV’s (now CTV Life Channel) new Canadian wedding design show, “Where To I Do?”. The show inspires engaged couples by touring various event venues and presenting three completely unique spaces, where their fantasy wedding could take place. Whether it’s a medieval castle, a converted warehouse, a luxurious farmhouse, or a lavish secret garden, host, Tommy Smythe, presents the best options to help each couple lock down this key detail for their dream day. 
This year marks the third season in which NEEZO Studios has had the honour to work on the unique wedding inspiration program. “Fortunately, host Tommy Smythe will make every couple’s decision a little bit easier by providing them with high-quality 3D renders to help them — and viewers — understand how each potential wedding location can be used to its fullest potential.”

It’s no doubt that all of the chosen venue locations are stunning. It’s challenging to envision how a venue might look after all of the decorations and preparations are complete. When it came to the visualizations for ‘Where To I Do?’, NEEZO’s animations were used to show the couples just how much potential each venue had to offer even before any final plans were done. Working alongside the ‘Where To I Do?’ team, NEEZO followed the design plan that fit each venue and represented each couple perfectly. NEEZO’s renderings and animations were used to show people how the venue could look before the actual event.
